Service Sponsorship

As in recovery, the use of a sponsor in service is helpful and rewarding. Recovering alcoholics who are active in service work, including GSRs, DCMs, Delegates, Committee Chairpersons or other service positions, frequently encourage the people they sponsor to become active soon into recovery. Rewarding work on a committee, participating in a jail meeting or acting as a contact for someone newly out of a treatment center brings enriched sobriety. Simply put, we give it (sobriety) away to keep it.

All members of A.A. are welcome to attend local District meetings, Area Assemblies and are encouraged to participate in Area committee work.
